Chatur Singh Two Star 2011 (Reviews)

Poster 3 Eng
Star cast: Sanjay Dutt, Ameesha Patel, Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Rati Agnihotri.

Sanjay Dutt is a bumbling police officer who can never do anything correctly. He is sent to South Africa to get back Ameesha Patel, who is a criminal on the run, in spite of the fact that she was able to flee the prison because of Sanjay’s inefficiency. What happens in South Africa? Find out more in Chatur Singh Two Star review.

It is only in a civilized society where we are taught not to laugh when someone falls or enjoy at the expense of someone's frailty. Therefore to be in line with our moral and ethical growth it is advisable that we do not laugh, make fun or enjoy at the expense of Sanjay Dutt and his mighty fall from the thrown of stardom. Last we saw him in the film Double Dhamal where his post pregnancy weight was still looming large. However his latest venture Chatur Singh Two Staris far more painful!
CelebFlicker-Chatur-Singh-Two-Star-Walls-4.preview

Director Ajay Chandhoke has played a cruel joke on us. It is cruel to make a film such as this that not only makes us shudder while experiencing it but also cringe at the sight of a once “towering over Bollywood" Sanjay Dutt make an absolute fool of himself. Do not be mistaken by the Jacques Clouseau mustache. Forget Pink Panther, all it does is bring out the animal in us as we want to leap out of our chair and pull at our hair, kick some one hard or growl at the world.

Partners in crime alongside Mr. Dutt are Ameesha Patel, Suresh Menon, Gulshan Grover and Anupam Kher. The intention was to perhaps make a comic flick keeping in mind the innocence and endearing madness of Jacques Clouseau. However never has the intention been such light-years away from reality. Sanjay Dutt is Chatur Singh, a policeman. A detective is how he would like to be remembered but we most likely to forget. Chatur is ever eager to "go on a Mission". The police force and his Chief are totally out of breath with his histrionics. The plot seems to pretend to move when his boss Anupam Kher asks him to keep a watchful eye and provide security to a corrupt politician Gulshan Grover. Chatur meets Sonia (Ameesha Patel) and we feel as if the movie is on a ventilator and the audience in need of life-support.

Sanjay Dutt, in this movie has role of ‘stupid cop’ who somehow get away with any of his mistakes & consider himself as a super detective all over the movie and he did his job well with acting. But the fact is – all the dialogues are stupid, jokes are non sense and can only make laugh to kids below 5 years of age & very old folks. (Not claiming anything baseless- I saw it happening – they were at least laughing on some jokes)

If I have to talk anything good in this movie was - Amisha Patel looks super hot in the movie & did OK job all over the movie. But yeah, I like her coming back as she do have really deserves better roles, she is Beautiful & HOT as well.  And again Sanjay Dutt looks too old to be her lead co star in the movie OR they haven’t spent enough on his make up.

Delhi Belly (2011)

Latest Indian Movie Delhi Belly (2011) Review

Three struggling room-mates unknowingly become potential prey of a ruthless gangster.

Director: Abhinay Deo

Writer: Akshat Verma

Stars: Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapur

The opening title credits settle on a frame of a hairy bum crack. The setting is a filthy, dirty and ‘messy to the brim’ flat, waiting to collapse, being shared by the lead trio – Tashi Dorjee Lhatoo (Imran Khan playing a Bhutani? Doesn’t seem right!), Nitin Berry (Kunal Roy Kapoor) and Arup(Vir Das). Tashi is a Times of India journo and Nitin is his accompanying photographer on a rusty scooter and Arup is a cartoonist. Tashi is caught between a relationship with a marriage notice, his boss at work Menaka(Poorna Jagarnnathan), and somehow the trio find themselves caught in between a smuggler web because of diamonds that they are unknowingly supposed to deliver. There is the expected chase to survive, making money on the way, and of course enough boom, bam, kisses and slams to keep you engrossed. And as they say, what matters is the journey, not the destination. With an appetite for munching down all possibilities of toilet humour that can be thrown at the audience, DELHI BELLY rolls from corner to corner with desi versions of the F-bombs.

DELHI BELLY is all about Tashi, Arun and Nitin – flat mates, buddies and partners in crime. Tashi is to get married in a month but still doesn’t know if his fiancee is THE ONE! Arun can’t make up his mind who he wants to kill first – his girlfriend (who has just dumped him) or his stupid, annoying boss (whose idea of creativity is sketching a smiling banana). And Nitin is about to discover that eating delicious Tandoori Chicken off a street vendor is going to give him the worst case of Delhi Belly he’s ever known! Three regular blokes, living the regular life except for one small detail – they are on the hit list of one of the world’s deadliest crime syndicates. Will they be able to get away before the shit hits the roof and it comes crashing down? Delhi Belly is the meanest comedy you’re ever likely to see.

Delhi Belly, India’s first mainstream foray into Western-style gross-out comedy, comes as a relief because the filmmakers realize that a little goes a long way. By emphasizing quality over volume when it comes to scatological humor, Delhi Belly showcases the genre at its best.

Freelance reporter Tashi (Imran Khan) lives in a filthy apartment with his two pals, photographer Nitin (Kunaal Roy Kapur) and cartoonist Arup (Vir Das). Tashi’s gorgeous but ditzy girlfriend, Sonia (Shenaz Treasurywala), takes a package from a suspicious Russian man in the airport where she works as a flight attendant. Without realizing that the package is full of contraband, Sonia asks Tashi to deliver the package for her so that she can run errands.

Tashi hands the package off to Nitin, who promptly contracts a case of “Delhi belly” (diarrhea) from some unsanitary street food. Nitin asks Arup to deliver the package on his way to the doctor, who’s requested a stool sample from the ailing Nitin. You can guess what happens when Arup makes his deliveries.

Delhi Belly is not a typical Indian film, and not just because of its genre. The dialog is primarily in English, and the plot structure is also more like a Hollywood film. Bucking the standard formula for a two-hour-plus masala picture — split the story into two halves, separated by an intermission — Delhi Belly‘s plot has three acts that run continuously for 100 minutes, sans intermission.

What results from these breaks with Indian cinematic tradition? A damned funny movie. The writing is hilarious, and the dialog generates as many laughs as the physical gags and fart jokes do. Fair warning: even by much looser American ratings standards, this would be an R-rated film. Copious use of the f-word, violence, reference to sex acts and scatological humor make this adults-only fare.

Director Abhinay Deo — who failed to impress with his debut earlier this year, Game — shows a real flair for comedy. The story is well-paced, and Deo uses the camera deftly to exaggerate the ridiculous situations Tashi and his pals find themselves in. The movie’s two musical numbers are hysterical and fit seamlessly into the production.

Hindi Movie Murder 2 (2011)

Hindi Movie : Murder 2

Director : Mohit Suri

Producer : Mukesh Bhatt

Starring: Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Prashant Narayanan,

Sudhanshu Pandey, Sandeep Sikand.

Music Director: Harshit Saxena, Mithoon,

Sangeet Haldipur, Siddharth Haldipur.

Movie Release Date: July 8, 2011

Murder 2 is an erotic thriller Movie and sequel to Murder,
a 2004 hit film. As shown in Murder 2 wallpapers and stills
the movie seems be an erotic entertainer as usual in Emraan
Hashmi's movies.

MURDER 2 opens up with big expectations as its prequel was path-breaking musical success in the marquee, finest to come from veteran Anu Malik that made Kunal Ganjawala ('Bheege Honth Tere'), a household singing sensation. This sequel charters popular path of experimentation of trying out with multiple composers with the likes of talented Mithoon, Sangeet Haldipur-Siddarth Haldipur and reality show prodigy Harshit Saxena as the lead composers of the album.

Emraan Hashmi suits the role perfectly. Actually, the role suits him. It's a typical bad-boy-with-a-good-heart role, something which we have seen Emraan portray many times in the past. Jacqueline Fernandez looks sizzling, but doesn't have a meaty role. Those expecting copious steamy scenes between Emraan and Jacqueline will surely be disappointed. Sulagna Panigrahi, who makes her debut, plays the victimised Reshma to perfection. Sudhanshu Pandey plays his part with a lot of confidence. Sandiip Sikcand acts well. Shweta Kawatra impresses in her cameo.

The film undoubtedly belongs to Prashant Narayan, who delivers a splendid performance. To give him credit, he elevates the film to a great extent. His performance is so effective that you start loathing him every time he appears on screen.

Chalo Dilli (2011)

Chalo Dilli is about an odd couple who embark on a road trip. Mihika Mukherjea (Lara Dutta) is a professional who works for a multinational company. Having missed her flight from Mumbai to Delhi she has to travel by road. That's where she meets Manu

Language: Hindi

Genre: Drama

Released on Apr 29, 2011

The film purely depends upon the refreshing performances of its two lead characters Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak who alone make the project watchable and entertaining. Lara shows another side of her talent and that’s her excellent comic timing evidently visible in this film. She is simply great along with the amazing Vinay Pathak who has become a pro in acting for such kind of roles (though a little repetitive too). He is really superb as the Old Delhi shop-keeper and I truly loved him in the last 10 minutes of the film. In the supporting cast Brijendra Kala as the TC is the best and Akshay Kumar looks cool in his climax cameo.

Thank You 2011 (Hindi Movie)

Thank You is a story of 3 friends Raj [Bobby Deol], Yogi [Suniel Shetty] & Vikram [Irrfan] who basicly are womanizers. Yogi has already been caught by his wife Maya [Celina Jaitley] thanks to her detective friend Kishan [Akshay Kumar]. Raj's wife Sanjana [Sonam Kapoor] also finds something fishy about her husband so Maya asks Kishan to help Sanjana out. Well, Kishan is spellbound when he first see's Sanjana, and then he plans doomsday for Raj and his friends. So, what is Kishan upto ? Will he help Sanjana get back Raj to fall in love with her or will he make her fall in love with him ? If he is helping Sanjana & her friends to get back their husbands, why is he doing so ? Is there any history behind Kishan ? These questions will be answered when you watch Thank You.

The director Anees Bazmee who just directed a nonsense movie last year, looks to be coming back in form with Thank You. He has taken into consideration, his previous mistakes and has worked on it. The climax also does not contain panicky situations or a Priyadarshan kinda full starcast mayhem, instead it contains emotional quotient but with a few laughs. Though he does not manage to pull out a bringing the house down experience, but still he has made Thank You an enjoyable fare.

Akshay is funny, he is wicked and he has some great scenes in the movie. Thank You may not be his best performance but it sure is the best in recent times, nothing extra-ordinary, but just what the role demanded. Bobby Deol is back after a big hit in Yamla Pagla Deewana and he looks more confident towards comedy now. Deols always known for action (Only Dharmendra was known for both Action as well as Humour) have now learnt how to tickle the funny bone. He handles both light and emotional scenes well. He may not have the funniest of lines but he does well within the boundaries. Suniel Shetty may not have a meaty role as compared to Akki and Bobby but surely he has the best lines, scenes and reactions that bring laughter. He after Hera Pheri way back has come up with a great performance. Irrfan Khan has his typical style and that is what worked for him. Although he plays a great support to Akki and Bobby but he clearly steals the thunder with a sincere performance. Irrfan and Suniel provide majority of the comic relief.

August 15 Movie Review

This is one of the most awaited film in legendary actor Mammotty's career. The film is a sequel of the highly successful film August 1. The previous installment was directed by Sibi Malayil and was written by S.N. Swamy. But this time around, the director has changed and Shaji Kailas calls the shots. But the writer remains same. Note the fact that many of them had criticised S.N Swamy for the pathetic sequel ( Sagar Alias Jacky ) to his blockbuster film ErupthamNoothandu. This time around he is involved in writing the sequel of another movie that was a milestone in his career. But does he get it right this time ? The answer is yes and no. The film's basic plot is similar to the previous installment.

August 1 directed by Sibi Malayil  was released in 1988. After 23 years one would expect the sequel to be better than the original flick. But the story remains the same, except that Mammooty looks younger than he looked two decades back. That's something you have concede to the man for keeping himself fit, dashing and 'young'.  He looked absolutely stunning and classy and dons the role of Perumal with the same panache and power as he did 23 years ago. Maybe, even better.

Indian Movie Udaan Review

Rohan is just another 'average' kid, rebellious and dreamer. After being expelled from boarding school, he has to live with his authoritarian, oppressive father in the steel town of Jamshedpur. It is obvious that the apple has fallen as far from the tree as it is possible.

The father runs a small steel plant and wants his son to be an engineer and enjoys defeating him in running, while the son sits on railway tracks, under a tree, by the bed of a river, composing poetry. Senior Singh cannot digest the fact that his son dreams of being a writer. So he makes his rules clear to both Rohan and his young step-brother Arjun.

Rohan rebels in his own little ways, but has to concede to his fathers demands. When he comes to know that the reason for his step-brother's hospitalisation is because of a beating from his father, he seethes with rage, but can do nothing.

Yet, in the end you cannot hold a rebellious spirit down and Rohan breaks free from his shackles.

"Udaan" will not only resonate with those who had a troubled childhood, but with anyone who has faced oppression, or ever nurtured dreams. The film is an analogy of life and of a nation's social ethos.

Another film that came out earlier this year "Leaving Home", a documentary about the band Indian Ocean, resonated with the same middle-class aspiration that "Udaan" dabbles with. There too the band members detail how they had had to fight their own parents and the system to become artists.

The cast gives a stellar performance.

Rajat Barmecha as Rohan is a precious find, while Ronit Roy as his father reminds you of another super-villain of world cinema, nurse Ratched in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Looking at his maturely restrained performance, you wonder what he is doing wasting time overacting for television.

7 Khoon Maaf Movie Review

7 Khoon Maaf, based on a short story by Ruskin Bond, is about a woman’s quest for love. Only this woman, Susanna played by Priyanka Chopra, unerringly manages to find and marry the worst candidates, not once but six times.
She walks down the aisle with cheery optimism and the knowledge that if it doesn’t work, there’s always the other option. Why doesn’t she just leave or opt for divorce? Because, as her faithful butler explains, that is her nature.
This is a tough story to pull off and despite the voluminous talent on display here – from director-co-writer-composer Vishal Bhardwaj to Priyanka to co-stars like Irrfan

Priyanka, not for the first time, proves she is leagues ahead of all competition. She approaches this strange and sensual creature of the night from the outside and then quietly makes inroads into the woman’s heart and soul. We can actually see the character’s snarled inner-world on Priyanka’s face! We don’t even know when and how she does it. Priyanka is that kind of a player.

Vishal Bharadwaj has earlier made films about gangs and gangsterism. Every time the dark brooding atmospheric surface seemed to suggest a life of sinister suppressions. Those unspoken, intangible thoughts and visions that often guide a human being to his or her doom are outlined in “7 Khoon Maaf” with supreme poetic elegance.
